One

Even though circumstance and fate

Now conspire to falter, still they tirelessly create –
I think back to the moments taken
Vanished instants next to you
Exacted tithes in restitution
Drown out love’s own constitution.
Seemingly paths we had to choose
Each mean that by the other we were forsaken
Mercy’s gift stems tides of hate
And deliver us from that cruel fate
Just as we find what was was real
Orphaned love again begins to feel
Touching once that fine ideal
Every day alone I waken
Daylight shows we are not two
On this there follows pure absolution
Not in the dreams of an imagination
As much as in our final union
