Tech and Me – dragged into the 21st Century

I’m part of the team driving the event promotion testing new technology for Mxit and TrustFabric’s GUST mobile payment technology.

I’m not a technophobe. I’m a technothwart. It is useless to get me to try out anything new; I don’t understand it and I break technology (5 laptops in one morning – a new Mxit record!) but this is the shit!

I registered for the Grim Furdango music festival online, I created a TrustFabric account, that protects me from spam to my email and mobile phone, and then my account was verified using the new Samsung Galaxy S3 mobile phone, which was then linked to an NFC tag and I have magically been granted access and given money with which I can pay for drinks, using a simple rubber bracelet.

This is quite simply the best thing since sliced bread – I’m not having to deal with online ticketing, or queuing and tomorrow at the event, I simply stroll through the access point, to enjoy live bands and the arrival of the future of how to pay for stuff.

Technothwart? Technofan!
