I found a way out of doing today’s ironing – I simply bought another shirt for tomorrow!
Huzzah! The laundry problems of today are now the laundry problems of tomorrow. When there will be another shirt added to the pile of laundry…so, essentially, a bigger laundry problem.
And there you have it: not doing the laundry is like drug addiction. The reality of drugs and alcohol is that they are not going to solve any problems, and they only prolong your having to deal with life, and all its little challenges; and all the while new and unmet challenges get added to the pile.
Life would be great if doing drugs meant that life actually happened while you were doing the drugs. But it doesn’t – life happens for other people, while your life is just put on hold. Life on pause.
Wouldn’t it be great if by buying a shirt to wear to work tomorrow, the un-ironed shirts I have waiting for me at home were miraculously ironed? Yeah.
Life doesn’t work that way.
