…and Supporting Bands

It’s odd that I am not a musician of some sort, because I have an impressive music collection and an extremely emotive response to music – surely that’s all it takes? No?

Well, no matter – there are some damn fine musicians and some even better lyricists out there, who are plugged into my soul. Proper, like.

“No way out” by Highland has just these sort of lyrics that were written for me. There is no better, more succinct way to say this:

I used to revere you
I’m trying hard to ignore you
But now I resent you
I wish that I could forget you
You’ve nothing to offer
You see there’s no second chance here
There’s no looking back now
You know there’s nothing to work out.
It shouldn’t be so hard for you to understand
Why should I have to wait for you to come around?
There’s no way out, no way out
There’s no way out, no way out
It shouldn’t be so hard for you to understand
Why should I have to wait for you to come around?
You know I shouldn’t have to make it up for you
Why can’t you see I want no part of this?

The music style is a little bit house-y, a little bit trance-y but not quite as proggy as it used to be – this is an in-joke for the DJs out there. They will understand: Highland No Way Out on YouTube

It resonates. No?
